Roxi Copland: Two Shots In
We’ve got a fun video for you today. It's the single “Two Shots In” from Austin’s own Roxi Copland. A classically trained musician, Roxi’s previous life included being a singing pianist in a jazz club, but she’s dropped the complex cords for the storytelling that country and Americana music do so well. Recorded during the height of the pandemic, her EP, I Come From Crazy, is out April 8th.
If you’ve ever been drunk and lost your filter, started a fight, or made a fool of yourself, then you’re going to be able to identify with “Two Shots In.” Instead of viewing a lost filter as a bad thing, Roxi instead uses it as inspiration for a song. She had this to say about the single, “I’ve been told that I have a bit of a smart mouth by nearly everyone who’s spent any amount of time with me. What little filter I usually have becomes pretty much non-existent after a few drinks. I reckon I’m not the only one similarly afflicted." Listening to Roxi and her smooth and controlled delivery, it’s easier to imagine her more at home in a front of a piano than on the honky tonk floor, but she holds her own and proves she can make a name for herself in the Americana genre.
