Gregory Dwane may be releasing his debut album October 8th, but he’s not new to the music scene. From his humble beginnings in North Carolina with two turntables and a microphone, to writing jingles, producing for Amy Ray of the Indigio Girls, and traveling the world as a tech. He’s done his time in the scene and eventually burned out. It was only after giving up music and experimenting in the world of fine art, that he rekindled his love for songwriting.

Like many artists in 2020, Gregory found himself with more time on his hands than he’d had in years. Digging into old demo tapes and influences ranging from Kacey Musgraves to Waylon Jennings, it didn’t take long for Gregory to put together an album’s worth of songs, these eleven tracks would go on to make up his self-titled album.

Today we’re premiering his single, “Growing Up.” Look for it on streaming services Friday, but we’ve got a sneak peek of it below. Gregory had this to say about the song:

“This song is about raising a son, watching him grow into his teenage years, and mourning the loss of that beautiful little child that you raised. It's also about accepting the young adult that is going to make mistakes, and allowing them to be who they are meant to be.”
