Memphis Kee has partnered with Adam Odor and yellow DOG Studios in the Texas Hill Country for his October 28th album release Wimberley, titled after the location of its conception. A rollicking mix of Hill Country Rockabilly, Americana, and Roots, Wimberley leans heavily on Kee's personal experiences while adhering to no genre in particular, resulting in a unique collection of songs reminiscent of the sound of early pioneers in Red Dirt and amped up with a healthy helping of 90's rock.

Featuring nine original tracks and one cover, the album includes, as special guests, Mike Harmeier (Mike and the Moonpies) and Cody Braun (Reckless Kelly) and stylistically reflects the sounds and landscapes of the rugged Texas Hill Country where it was recorded. Frontman, Memphis Kee expands upon the album's concept in a recent press release by saying, “If there had to be one particular element that covers all thirty-nine minutes of this record, it would be writing words and music that reflect the real things in our lives and sharing those with no rules or limitations, no genre to which we had to be faithful, no limitations on creative ideas for instrumentation or style. We checked a lot of boxes on the musical spectrum with this release.”

Kee, who, yes, originally hails from Memphis, goes on to elaborate by saying, “While I am proud of our first EP, 6th & San Jacinto, this record is more dynamic, creative, emotional, and sonically impressive at every level. Having a full-time band of talented, studio proficient musicians being led by the likes of Adam Odor and the staff at yellow DOG Studios gave every song unique layers that wouldn't be present under different circumstances. It still feels like we caught lightning in a bottle during our time there.”

From tracks like "Little Rock's a Fine Town" to "Annabelle" to the deeply personal ballad "McKinley's Song" (which focuses on Kee's sentiments regarding his adoptive daughter), the album runs the full gauntlet of not only Kee's musical influences, but also those of the rest of his band members, including Spencer Carlson (lead guitar, vocals); Paul Pinon (drums); Joey Sisk (bass) and Jake Waylon (mandolin, keys, guitar, vocals).

The album is out in full and available on most streaming platforms. Be sure to catch Memphis Kee during his upcoming tour at the locations and dates listed below.
