Chef Bruce Kalman and Willie Nelson: Luck Productions Announce 5th Annual PotLuck Ahead of Luck Reunion

February 6, 2020 - Austin, TX - Luck Productions is proud to announce the return of their annual PotLuck event on March 18th in Luck, TX. Held on the eve of Luck Reunion, PotLuck redefines what it means to have a cookout in the Hill Country, gathering artists, culinary connoisseurs, and music lovers at Willie Nelson’s storied Luck, TX, property for an intimate dinner followed by a very special backyard performance from Willie Nelson. “Luck is all about community, and we feel nothing represents community more than breaking bread together,” says Luck co-founder Matt Bizer. “We see chefs as part of the core fabric of the community, just like our artists family, and we want the chefs to be a core part of the vision and the why behind everything we do.” Sharing in the mission of keeping things as close to the ground as possible and choosing local whenever possible, Farm Aid and Austin Food & Wine Alliance are this year’s beneficiaries for PotLuck.

The 2020 event will welcome a wide-ranging group of culinary talent, curated by lead Chef Bruce Kalman (BK Hospitality Group, Top Chef season 15 contestant) with help from Luck’s resident foodie Ben Runkle (Salt & Time) to bring their culinary influences to the table with a collaborative multi-course meal.

Kalman, who was born and raised in northern New Jersey, is a James Beard-nominated chef and co-owner of Knead & Co. Pasta Bar + Market in downtown Los Angeles, as well as the chef-founder behind BK Brinery, his artisanal pickle company. “I’m honored to be asked to take the lead and I have assembled an incredibly talented group of chefs,” he says. “This year’s theme is Mediterranean Live Fire which is my favorite way to cook as it lends itself to rustic cooking using locally sourced, indigenous ingredients.”
