Shane Smith & The Saints: Tower Theatre Photo Review

One day after a bus fire caused Shane Smith & The Saints to lose all they had on tour, they rolled into the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City. Opening the show for them was the brilliant Chris Jones and The Flycatchers along with the very talented Josh Weathers.

Local favorites out of nearby Norman, Oklahoma, Chris Jones and The Flycatchers took the familiar Tower Stage.

The band was joined on stage by the very talented singer-songwriter, Ken Pomeroy. The Folk-Americana phenom brought her smooth and powerful vocals to the stage. Providing sweet harmonies with Chris Jones.

Chris Jones and The Flycatchers features the talents of Isaac Stalling on the lead guitar, Brandon Aguilar on the electric bass, Andrew Dolman pounding the beats on drums, and Chris Jones on vocals and rhythm guitar. The set included tunes from their brand new album, Songs For Red, available on all digital platforms.

Fort Worth based singer-songwriter, Josh Weathers was next up on the Tower Stage. Josh brings a mix of high energy rock n’ soul that has been crafted for over 15 years through hard work and showmanship.

Weathers is known for his cover of Dolly Parton’s, “I Will Always Love You, which went viral a few years back. The tune took his reach from a regional level to a national and global level.

His set included tunes off of his album, Wild Ones, which was released on July 20th of this year. He played the title track, “Wild Ones,” “Sometime,” “One,” “Before I met you,” and “So Right.”

In late 2015 Josh and his wife Kady founded a non-profit organization called Love Like You Mean It Intl after a life changing trip to India. Since the foundation began Josh has chosen to use his platform to bring awareness to their efforts overseas. If you ever have the chance to witness a live performance…do it. You’ll be a part of something special.

Shane Smith & The Saints took the stage in front of a packed crowd at The Tower Theatre. Fresh off an inspiring show in Lubbock at Cook’s Garage, the band drove on, doing what they love to do: performing for their fans.

The evening consisted of tunes from the bands most recent release, Hail Mary. An album that was released in “chapters” earlier in the year and should be considered to be one of the top albums of the year by many publications.

The set included favorites such as “Oklahoma City,” “Heaven Knows,” “Canvas,” and “Little Bird.” Multiple pages have been set up to raise money for the band. They lost all their equipment, clothes and merchandise in the fire. However, Shane Smith & The Saints want you to support them by going to the shows and buying merchandise from their website. Do it. This is one of the best bands on the road today. Help them continue their journey by supporting their highly energetic, live shows and wearing their merchandise.
