The Comancheros: Mercury Lounge Tulsa - Photo Review
The Comancheros brought the “Heavy and Western” to the Mercury Lounge Tulsa on November 9th, 2019. This was the bands second time to play Tulsa and this was their debut on the Lounge stage.
The southern rock, high-energy, and extremely talented band hails from Columbia, Missouri. Members include Tanner Jones on guitar and vocals, Bradley Hutchinson shares the shredding duties on guitar, Kyle Imgarten on the bass, and the maniac on the drums is R. Michael Cook.
The band played several originals off of their most recent full-length album, Heavy & Western, which is coming up on the one-year anniversary of the release. The tune, “Ain’t Nowhere I’d Rather Be” is a personal favorite from the album as well as the set from the Mercury Lounge. The band also put down some of the best versions of songs that I have heard. The standout song of the night was “Midnight Rider” by the Allman Brothers Band. Absolutely, fucking fantastic version of the 1970 tune off the album, Idlewild South. Shirts came off, beer was drank and spilt on the Lounge stage. A good-ass time was to be had by all. Don’t miss The Comancheros the next time that they roll through the 918 or your area code. It would be a mistake.
